Install once — deleting it destroys the plan
An eSIM profile can be installed one time only. If you delete it from your phone, reset the device or erase all content, the plan is permanently lost — we cannot reissue it and it cannot be refunded. Running out of data is not a broken eSIM; deleting it will not fix anything and will destroy it. Write to us first.
Scanning the QR code
Open the delivery email on a second screen — a laptop, or another phone — and scan it with the phone you are travelling with. A phone cannot scan a code displayed on itself.
When the QR will not scan
Every eSIM can also be installed by typing two values in by hand: the SM-DP+ address and the activation code. Both are in your delivery email and on My eSIMs. They are case-sensitive.
iPhone
Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM › Enter Details Manually
On iOS 17 and earlier this reads Add Cellular Plan. Some regions label the menu Mobile Service rather than Cellular.
Samsung Galaxy
Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM › Enter activation code
One UI 7 renamed SIM manager to SIMs on some models.
Pixel and other Android
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Download a SIM instead › Need help? › Enter it manually
Some phones ask for a single value instead of two. That is the full LPA string, which looks like LPA:1$server$code — it is in your email too.
After it is installed
- Validity starts at first use, not at purchase. Installing early costs you nothing.
- Keep your usual SIM in place for calls and texts, and set Ahoray as the line for mobile data.
- Turn on data roaming for the Ahoray line. This is normal for a travel eSIM and does not charge you anything extra — the plan is already paid for.
Still stuck
Write to support@ahoray.com with your phone model and what you see on screen, and we will walk you through it. Do not delete anything first.
